An adaptation of the teleplay and stage play 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda, this version allows both men and women to serve on the jury deciding the fate of a 19-year-old accused of stabbing his father to death. As the jurors assemble into the jury room on a hot summer day it seems as though all believe it’s a slam dunk that the boy is guilty until one lone juror says “not guilty” and begins to break down the facts of the case. Various points of order are questioned, exhibits are re-examined and the murder is re-enacted. Reasonable doubt begins to form in others’ minds and each and every man and woman in the jury room begins to reveal bits of themselves and their prejudices as a final verdict is reached. 12 Angry Jurors is American democracy at its finest.

Oops! It’s 1942 and two of Hollywood’s greatest talents, each full of themselves and who despise each other, are mistakenly given the same suite at the Palm Beach Royale Hotel where they are to perform for some of the troops on leave. What could possibly go wrong? As the staff tries desperately to keep the two divas from finding out they are in the same hotel suite, one gossip columnist, two bell hops, one lap dog, two secretaries, one hotel manager, double entredres and 4 dozen white roses all converge into one zany, madcap farce. Playwright Michael McKeever considers this his homage to the comedies of the 1930s and 40s.

This parody of the classic murder mystery has an ingenious comic twist. All the elements are in place…the spooky old mansion, the dark and stormy night, the author dreaming up his next whodunit novel. All the proper characters are in place…the breathtaking ingénue, the rich femme fatale, the proper butler, the white knight hero and the smarmy lawyer waiting for midnight to read the will of the person who hasn’t even been murdered yet. The target is author Peter Knight. The killer is one of his own character creations come to life. The mystery is cleverly solved providing suspense, wit, comedy and a touch of romance.
