PEACE, LOVE AND THEATRE

OCTA salute to the 70's

State OCTAfest 2010, Labor Day Weekend

Oh yes, a salute to the fabulous 70's!

Upon arrival at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg, OH, our guests will be greeted by "love children" passing out peace medalions.  The opening ceremonies will include two of our OCTA Jr. excerpts, as well as a Friday night disco party and scavenger hunt.

Starting Saturday morning, begin the day with one of OCTA's outstanding workshops and attend one of the many outstanding excerpts from around the state.  Saturday night will have a "disco" for those who want to dance the night away and the usual sing-a-long.  If MTI no longer does the sing-a-long, a wonderful Piano Man will offer a sing-a-long piano bar for all those who want to croon the night away.  We will also have late night games; OCTAFeud and a late night swim party in the indoor/outdoor pool.

On Sunday morning, enjoy more workshops, followed by more outstanding excerpts.  On Sunday night, the banquet will be a 70's themed party: FUNKYTOWN!!  A local Toledo band called Radio Flier is ready to bring down the house with tons of tunes from the 70's (and recent ones, too).  There will also be a costume party with lots of funky prizes for those dressed in the best 70's apparel.  Again, more late night games and sing-a-longs will follow the dance party for you to enjoy.

Monday morning will again feature workshops as well as an outstanding brunch buffet.  If there is one thing the French Quarter is known for, it is their outstanding buffets!!  After brunch, the highly anticipated awards ceremony.

For those who wish to bring their children, Holiday Inn French Quarter offers a kid's area that is separate from the "party zone".  In addition, Toledo boasts a world class zoo, an amazing park system and several other features for the family to enjoy.  So bring the kids, they'll have fun, too!

So, pull those clothes out of storage, find your favorite bell bottoms, and start practicing the Hustle, because we are going to party 70's style as only OCTA knows how!

See you at Conference 2010!
