Kid Kompany rides again!

Harlequins Sandusky Community Theatre is once again sponsoring Kid Kompany. Kid Kompany is an opportunity for area youth to learn more about live theatre production through meetings, workshops and performing. Area youth ages 9-20 are eligible to participate in the Kid Kompany production to be staged this summer. Youth ages 14-20 are eligible to participate in the Kid Board.

Information about the Kid Board, which will be forming in the near future, is included below.

 Kid Board

Kid Board is the governing body of Kid Kompany and is responsible for voting on all recommendations pertaining to the operation of Kid Kompany to the Harlequins Board. Kid Board members will be tasked with taking the lead roles in the production aspect of the summer show including directing, set design, costuming, marketing, goal setting, production/meeting scheduling, etc. Kid Board members must be willing to commit to attend meetings as scheduled, take responsibility for various tasks and jobs related to the summer show, and conduct themselves with a level of behavior that is acceptable and productive to the Kid Kompany goals.

Each Kid Board meeting will consist of an agenda that covers decisions/recommendations to the Harlequins Board concerning Kid Kompany AND a workshop on various topics related to live theatre. Such topics as improvisation, building a flat, costuming, marketing, and special make up effects may be included in the workshop schedule!

Become a Kid Kompany Mentor!

Calling all Harlequins members! Do you have special knowledge and talents that you want to share with our Kid Board? Here’s your chance!

We are looking for members of Harlequins who would like to serve as a mentor to the youth participating on our Kid Board. The commitment is to assist and teach the youth you have assigned to you about your particular area of expertise during our summer production. You will be asked to meet with your mentee(s) and provide them with meaningful instruction. Also, you will be asked to make yourself available during our final week of pre-production in case your mentee has questions or problems related to their role in the production.

This is a perfect opportunity to get area youth involved in community theatre and to share your experiences with them. You will not be asked to do the production work for the youth, but rather teach them how to do it for themselves and assist them when they need it.
